The
Covent Garden Team...................................................................
Dental Surgeons
CGDP is made-up of a young loyal team. Andrew, Reena and Nayeem have all been with the practice for a full 13 years. Joanna has been with us for 11 years. We think that says a lot about our practice and it means that our customers get consistently great care.
Between us, we can help treat your dental needs by offering the following languages:
English, French, Cantonese, Russian, Bengali, Hindi,
Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, Hungarian and Italian.
Our team comprises:
Andrew Kay BDS (Hons) LDSRCS
Dental Surgeon and Practice Principle (andrew@cgdp.com) Andrew grew up in Lancashire . He qualified, with honours and distinction in dental surgery, from Kings College London in 1982.
Before entering general dental practice, Andrew stayed on in the dental hospital, working on the children’s department, believing that if he could conquer treating nervous kids, then he would have the skills needed to treat any patient.
Andrew then moved into general practice in Claygate, Battersea, and then 9 years in Clapham, each time building up a loyal patient base who have followed him along the way.
In 1994, he bought a run-down practice in a great location in Covent Garden and has developed CGDP. The practice has blossomed into the leading private practice in the area with a faithful patient base of 5,500 and rising.
Andrew loves all aspects of modern dentistry and is just as happy to scale and polish a regular patient’s teeth as he is to carry out a full mouth reconstruction.
State of the art bleaching techniques, minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry, veneers, tooth coloured fillings and fresh breath treatments are particular strengths.
Outside the practice, Andrew’s interests include skiing, the National and Landmark Trusts, gardening, classic cars and collecting dental ephemera.

Reena Ahluwalia BDS
Dental Surgeon
Reena qualified from Kings College London in 1989 and, after gaining
18 months hospital experience in oral surgery, joined CGDP. Since
then she has partnered Andrew in helping establish a unique, informal and friendly atmosphere. Reena takes great care in helping to make the patients' experience as
relaxing as possible. Like Andrew, Reena has built up a loyal client base
who have stayed with her even through 3 long absences for maternity leave!
Reena now successfully balances a busy family life with her commitment to CGDP.
Reena has recently extended her training to provide Invisalign, the latest orthodontic technique to correct crooked teeth without the need for metal braces. Invisalign uses a series of invisible, progressive, aligners to gradually and permanently correct misaligned teeth.
Lately, she has developed special interest in facial aesthetics, being able
to complement those techniques already available in cosmetic dentistry. In
addition to dental implantology and clinical hypnosis training, Reena has
also completed a course in Botox® treatments, dermal fillers, Sculptra and facial peels.

Ali Abdellatif MSc (London), MFDS RCPS (Glasg), IQE (UK), BDS (Alex)
In 2007 Ali completed his Master's degree course in Implantology at King's College London. He trained under Professor Richard Palmer, one of the world's leading pioneers of dental implantology. Ali was hugely instrumental in introducing implant treatments to our practice and has successfully completed many implant cases over the past two years.
Before joining CGDP in March 2004, Ali taught undergraduate students at King's Dental Institute from 2002 to 2004 where he utilised his extensive knowledge and experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery obtained during the prior two years working as a senior house officer at Basildon, Southend and Manchester Royal Infirmary. During this time he also worked in NHS and private dental practice in North London. He is therefore our in-house oral surgeon.
Although dental implantology is Ali's specialist area where he excels, he has also shown an envious success in general and aesthetic dentistry. He has built a good rapport with his patients at CGDP taking his time to address their individual requirements and explaining all possible treatment options.
Ali works at CGDP on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Dr Greg Chiu BDS (Otago, New Zealand)
Greg has been a permanent associate dentist at Covent Garden Dental Practice for over 2 years now. His special interests are in smile design and root canal treatments.
Through many continuing education courses and specialist seminars Greg prides himself on providing high quality, gentle relief from tooth infections. Greg ensures that his patients' treatment is comfortable, pain free and their teeth are clean and sterile.
Greg is also interested in transforming your crowded, stained teeth into a, natural, clean and healthy aesthetic smile. This can be done using traditional veneers, or using the latest Invisalign treatment. Invisalign uses a series of invisible trays to gradually straighten teeth, without traditional wires or train tracks. Then teeth can be whitened to make them look much brighter again.
Greg is happy to see you from Tuesday till Saturday, with some late evenings also.
