Veneers

Veneers can correct and hide a multitude of sins. They are a thin layer of tooth-coloured material bonded onto the front surface of teeth, in order to make them look better. Veneers are especially useful where the tooth is discoloured, chipped, twisted, or imperfect. They can also be used to close spaces between teeth where orthodontic treatment is not suitable (see image).

Veneers are either made of porcelain (requiring 2 visits) or composite (requiring just one visit). They have the great advantage of needing only minimal preparation of the teeth in order to gain maximum improvement of the aesthetics. They are often a more conservative and suitable option to crowns.

Veneers should last for many years but like your own tooth, they can chip and fracture. They are, however, easily repaired or replaced.
