Extractions
Even these days, with the extensive methods we have for saving damaged teeth, there are still reasons for removing teeth.
Problems With Crowding / Baby Teeth
Some children's teeth may need to be removed for orthodontic treatment, where there is crowding.
Wisdom Teeth Extractions
Wisdom teeth can be very problematic and may have to be extracted if they have come through at an awkward angle (impacted).
Extensive Tooth Decay or Gum Disease
Some teeth may have to be extracted if they are very badly decayed or if they have become loose due to gum disease and bone loss. Don't despair though, gum disease is treatable and even bone loss can be reversed - a service that most dental practices are unable to provide.
Extractions can be carried out painlessly with the latest anaesthetic techniques and our dentists can provide the best advice and aftercare to minimise post-extraction problems.
Restoring Appearance and Function After Extraction
Where a tooth has been extracted, especially at the front of the mouth, you may wish to discuss with us ways to replace the missing tooth with either bridgework, implants, or partial dentures. Sometimes these items can be fitted on the same day as the extraction.
Oral Surgery Available in-House for Complex CasesThe removal of some wisdom teeth, fractured roots and the more difficult extractions may need to be carried out by our visiting Oral/ Maxillofacial Surgeon. Oral surgery.
