Implants

Implants are one way of replacing missing teeth. They are an alternative to bridges and partial dentures, and have the advantage of not requiring the support of remaining teeth.

A titanium post is planted into the jaw to simulate the root of the lost tooth. Once this post has 'taken' into the bone, a crown is placed on top of it. This is matched in shape and shade to the missing tooth.

Implants may be used to support fixed bridgework where several teeth are missing.

To provide the quality fitting of implants requires extensive training and we are delighted to be working Dr Ali Abdellatif whose masters degree was in Implantology. Ali has trained under two of the pioneers in this fledgling field.

Not all Implant services are the same. Ali's level of training allows him to fit a much wider range of Implants which greatly improves the fit, comfort and longevity of the implant. We also only offer Implants made by AstraTech which are the highest quality Implants and the only ones with a significant period of rigorous study behind them. The AstraTech Implants also differentiate themselves from cheaper Implants in that they are specially coated to encourage 'osteointegration'. Osteointegration is where the bone in the jaw grows to heal around the implant so that the implant becomes a new part of the jaw. Studies into this type of Implant and accompanying Osteointegration process has been shown to support strong, healthy and permanent tooth replacement.

The quality of fitting and Implants at CGDP are much higher than you can expect from dentists offering discounted implant fitting. You should only plan to have an implant done once so it makes sense to have an implant that you can have confidence in and should expect to last. (Please note that all fitted crowns have a typical life of 5-15 years and may therefore need to replaced - which is a relative routine procedure and does not require work done to the implant itself.)

To encourage more of our clients to take advantage of these wonderful Implants, our price is just £2,450 per implant. This cost includes initial consultation, x-ray, cutting-edge AstraTech implant, Crown, expert fitting and aftercare.

Due to Ali's advanced training in Implantolgy, we are also able to offer an implant service to those people where there has been significant bone-loss in the jaw. If you have been refused service elsewhere, please come and talk to us about bone grafts which can repair the jaw and support healthy new Implants.

Also, unlike most practices, we are also able to offer services to revise problems with existing implants.
